  nUbuntu Hierarchy

With the recent influx of new developers, emgent, jbeitler and Phobos have decided on a new hierarchical system of permission. The following titles have been created and are listed below with their corresponding roles. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Lead Developer - (Also serves as the Chairperson of the Board)
-----
- Oversees the entire development cycle

Lead Developers - (Also serve as nUbuntu Board Members)
-----
- Serves the same role as a Main Developer with the addition to being a member of the nUbuntu Board

Main Developers
-----
- Can commit directly in official PPA archive
- Can vote on the nUbuntu politic road (Must be approved by the board)
- Can vote and approve new Contributing Developers/Apprentice Contributors/Mirror Maintainers/Researchers and Honorary Members

Contributing Developers
-----
- Can commit only directly to nubuntu-repo-testing. (To commit in official packages they need to be approved by the nUbuntu Main Developers)
- Sponsor new candidates for lower positions

Apprentice Contributors
-----
- Can commit in nubuntu-repo-testing while Contributing Developer is sponsoring
- Eventually after board approval becomes a Contributing Developer


Research Team
-----
- Write tools that can be voted on in open developer meetings
- In charge of researching new tools
- In charge of researching hardware and patches

Wiki Maintainers
-----
- Required to maintain the official nUbuntu Wiki

Mirror Maintainers
-----
- Required to maintain their mirror

Honorary Members
-----
- Assist in support on IRC/Forums

NOTE:

Candidacy

In order to be a potential candidate, you must have a sponsor.

  nUbuntu 8.12 Instigating Insecurity Beta

Our development team has been hard at work recently to bring you the latest and greatest release of nUbuntu, codenamed "8.12 Instigating Insecurity".

Not only does this contain up to date versions of the already included software, it has packed on roughly 250mb on the ISO meaning a ton more tools to better your hacking experience.

Please feel free to use and distribute this new version, and as always report any bugs or requests in our forums at http://forums.nubuntu.org.

Also, feel free to join us on irc.FreeNode.net #nUbuntu.

  nUbuntu Open Meeting

This Sunday Night, 23rd November 2008 @ 21.00 (9PM) EST (24th November 2008 @ 2.00 UTC) there will be an open meeting in which anyone interested in nUbuntu can attend.

  • Fluxbox theme
  • Fluxbox menu

Remember anyone is invited. This meeting will take place on irc.FreeNode.net in #nubuntu. Please arrive a few minutes early if possible.
